PROGRAM INFORMATION
New Zealand is known for being calm and green, and for taking in fewer international students, which means more everyday English and less time surrounded by your own language. Schools are accredited by the NZQA, the country's education authority. On a student visa you can work up to 25 hours a week while you study, with one important detail: work rights come with a long course, from about 24 weeks, plus an IELTS 5.0 result. Short courses are perfect if you just want a season of English, without the work. There are courses from a few weeks up, and people who want to work usually enrol for a full year.
If earning money while you study in New Zealand is part of your plan, go for a programme of at least 24 weeks. Meet that threshold and your student visa lets you work legally up to 25 hours a week during term and full-time during the holidays (something shorter courses don't offer).

On a full-time course of about 24 weeks or more, with IELTS 5.0, the student visa lets you work up to 25 hours a week while term is on. Short courses don't include work rights, so course length and your English level are the first things we look at with you on the call.
