Queenstown is tiny: the three student zones are a short trip from each other. Where you land depends on your budget and how often you want to walk into town.
Brecon Street · Beach Street · Fernhill. From NZD $350/week. Lake, bars, gondola and English schools on your doorstep. The liveliest area.
Frankton Flats · Quail Rise · Lake Hayes Estate. From NZD $300/week. 10 minutes by bus, near the airport and more affordable.
Arrowtown village · Lake Hayes. From NZD $280/week. Historic town 20 minutes out. Lowest rents, close to Coronet Peak and stunning autumn colours.

Queenstown vive del turismo: hoteles, bares, restaurantes, operadores de esquí y guías de aventura. La temporada de esquí (junio a octubre) es la de más contratación, y en verano abren los tours de aventura. Quien aterriza para una temporada suele quedarse para la siguiente.
LIFESTYLE
Coronet Peak, The Remarkables, Cardrona y Treble Cone, todas a menos de una hora del pueblo en invierno. En verano la vida gira en torno al lago Wakatipu: paddleboard, jet boat, subir al Ben Lomond. Milford Sound se hace en el día, y Wanaka, su pueblo hermano, queda a una hora al norte.
Community
Queenstown funciona con personal internacional: argentinos, chilenos, brasileños y españoles forman gran parte del equipo de hostelería de temporada. Los planes en español (asados, fútbol, mate) son fáciles de encontrar, y vas a hacer amigos rápido.
